Mark Kohr is a highly creative person who grew up in the small Southern California town of San Juan Capistrano. He studied art and business at San Francisco State University and later became known as a music video director during the 90s and early 2000s.

Mark directed award winning & hit music videos for top bands like Green Day, No Doubt, Alanis Morsette, Cake, Shakira and many others. Mark was represented by Satellite Propaganda films in the 90s alongside other notable directors such as Spike Jonze and David Fincher. He went on to co-found Bob Industries in Santa Monica with a group of directors including Johnathan Dayton and Vallerie Ferris. In2001 Mark’s daughter began having seizures causing Mark to embark on a personal study in two different realms: health modalities and monetary history with an emphasis on the cultural behaviors expressed through monetary mechanics. He found the work of the Belgian economist Bernard Lietaer profoundly inspiring. His curiosity led him to create a Time Dollar alternative currency system at his children’s elementary school. He made media for the San Francisco based Bay Bucks mutual credit system and he guided young students through a project-based learning process of creating a currency system for their school. Mark has taught music video creative process at the San Francisco Academy of Art for the past 5 years. Fundamentally Mark is an artist who has always drawn from multiple sources to form unique solutions. His deep study of monetary matters over the past 15 years and love the beauty of the world and the best aspects of culture has led him to form the concept of EcoDemurrage Currency.
